What is CPR/AED certification?
CPR/AED certification teaches you how to recognize and respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies. You’ll learn Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for adults, children, and infants, along with how to properly use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) until professional help arrives.

Is this class suitable for beginners?

How long does the CPR/AED certification class take?
The class typically lasts 2–3 hours, depending on group size, questions, and practice time. All sessions include hands-on skill demonstrations with an instructor.
Is there a test at the end of the course?
No written test is required. Certification is based on active participation and successful completion of hands-on CPR and AED skill demonstrations.
How long is the certification valid?
Your American Heart Association (AHA) CPR/AED certification is valid for two years from the date of completion.
Can I take this course online?
Fully online CPR/AED courses are not accepted by most employers or OSHA. However, CPRNY offers blended-learning options — you complete part of the class online, then attend a short, in-person skills session to earn your certification.
How do I receive my certification card?
Once you successfully complete your class, CPRNY will email your AHA eCard within one business day. You can save or print it for your records.
What if I lose my CPR/AED card?
No problem! You can log into the AHA eCard portal (ecards.heart.org) to retrieve or reprint your certification anytime. CPRNY can also assist you if you need help locating your record.
