What’s the difference between ACLS certification and renewal?

ACLS Certification – for first-time students or those whose cards have expired.

ACLS Renewal – for returning students with a valid (or recently expired) AHA ACLS card.

Both courses cover the same content, but renewal classes focus on updates and skill refreshers, saving time.

Are CPRNY ACLS classes ever canceled?

Never. CPRNY guarantees your spot once you’re registered.

We pride ourselves on reliability — your ACLS class will never be canceled.

How do I know if ACLS is right for me?

If you’re a healthcare provider who responds to cardiac or respiratory emergencies, ACLS is essential.

It helps you build confidence and meet employer or hospital credentialing requirements.

What is ACLS certification?

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) is an advanced training course that prepares healthcare professionals to manage adult cardiac arrest, stroke, and other life-threatening emergencies.

The course includes:

  • Advanced airway management

  • ECG interpretation

  • Emergency pharmacology

  • Effective team dynamics

  • High-quality CPR and resuscitation protocols

All ACLS courses at CPRNY follow the latest American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.

Who should take ACLS certification?

The ACLS course is designed for:

  • Physicians, nurses, and paramedics

  • Respiratory therapists and emergency personnel

  • Healthcare professionals working in ER, ICU, or critical care settings

If you respond to or manage cardiovascular emergencies, ACLS certification is essential for your role and required by most hospitals.

How long does an ACLS class take?

A full in-person ACLS course typically lasts 4 to 6 hours, including practice, testing, and breaks.

CPRNY also offers a blended learning option—complete the online AHA portion (about 2 hours) and finish your hands-on skills check in person at one of our convenient NYC locations.

Does ACLS include BLS certification?

No — ACLS and BLS (Basic Life Support) are separate certifications.

BLS covers CPR for adults, children, and infants, AED use, choking relief, and naloxone administration.

However, CPRNY offers ACLS + BLS combo classes, allowing you to complete both certifications in one session and save time.

How much does ACLS certification cost?

The cost of ACLS certification or renewal generally ranges between $150–$350, depending on whether you’re taking the full or renewal course. This may not include the cost of your student manual or the online course (if choosing blended learning).

At CPRNY, we keep pricing transparent and offer discounts for group registrations and healthcare organizations.
